Welcome to my channel for details of motorcycles that i have made, road rides and maintenance and especially an in depth look into how i make some of my engines. Also detailed is the Millyard Racing DH mountain bike. I like anything mechanical including vintage lawn mowers and workshop equipment. I enjoy riding all my motorcycles every summer, and ride my trusty Honda ST1100 and Yamaha YL1 all year round . My Kawasaki Z2300 V12, Z1600 V8, First H1 850 five and First SS100 V Twin are in the Barber museum Birmingham Alabama USA and my third SS100 V Twin is in the Sammy miller Museum in the New Forrest UK. I also work with Henry Cole filming episodes of Junk & Disorderly, The Motorbike Show, shed & Burried and Find it Fix it Flog it for ITV and Channel 4
Norton Nemesis V8 rebuild - Episode 9
In this video I'm fitting the new alternator gear and assembling the lower and intermediate crankcases and checking the function of the oil pump
Note: All parts will be thoroughly cleaned before final assembly, so any debris , swarf dust of dirt seen under macro cinimatography in this video will be cleaned off later.
The Norton Nemeses is a pre production prototype that was made in the late 90's with claims of a 200+mph top speed from its 1500cc fuel injected V8 engine.
As far as I'm aware, this is the only bike that has survived but if any of you know of other bikes please leave a comment. This bike is owned by the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham UK has been on display as a non r...

In this video I start up the Z1 900 engine after its complete rebuild, and then ride the bike for the first time. The engine has a flat spot midrange feeling like its week on the needle so I remove the needles and raise them one groove to richen the mixture a little bit. The second test ride is much better, the flat spot has gone and its now covered 53 miles and is running perfect with no oil l...

Thank you Allen. I'm so excited to watch this, but not yet - I'm savouring it for special moment. I'm building my Man-shed atm ready for a future classic bike project. We live in Sunny North Devon - maybe you could pop in next time you're this way?
Nice work and fantastic stuff and I hope you soaked the clutch plates before fitting for 24 hrs
We consumers kindly request your episodes to be way longer. Very formally. Please.
"So when I make my new exhaust system...." Now that's music to everyone's ears. Thanks Allen.
A great saturday night show. Thank you Master Allen!
The welding on that manifold and crankcases are shocking
Brilliant job Allen, but as for the manifold…….chuck it in the stingers !
Exelente trabalho como sempre🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Your vast experience has given you a truly remarkable depth of knowledge. Things like fitting modified gixxer bearings, Honda oil pickups etc remind me of 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance'; quality is making parts fit for the purpose. Norton could never have made as good an engine as what you're rebuilding.
Outstanding stuff as per usual. Thanks for inviting us along.
ahhhhhh, settled down for the evening, cracked a beer, got nibbles, 21 mins of relaxation............😀😀😀😀
Thanks Allen ,another enjoyable video ❤
Seeing the ''AM 2024'' initials is so cool. History in the making.
Your work stands by itself👍🏼 Can imagine what you have planned for the new exhaust system.
This is a great mix of art and engineering, at least from my ignorant perspective! @AllenMillyard, whenever I see other mechanics/engineers installing clutch plates they're oil-dipped, is there a specificity to this engine not to go that route or is it a personal preference kind of situation? Cheers!
I really enjoy your videos.
It was a really ugly aluminum welding of the oil filter housing to the pan. Can't it be made to look like a pro had done this instead?
Look forward to the next one. 👍
I watch from start to finish and wonder where the time went ,absolutely fascinating ❤
Epic as ever Allen, very impatient to see it all together and hearing it fire up. I do hope that YOU have the first ride 🫡 if needs be lock Henry in one of his own barns 👍🏼
Look at the state of that sump Cover welding.
Fabulous work. ❤
This is a brilliant series love everyminute of this rebuild. One question why not used washes with the allen bolts on the crankcases?
The old Norton was a bit how ya going wasn't it in some places Allen? "Meanwhile back in the garage without a cupcake" you poor sod Allen what a travesty!🤣🤣
This video is slightly more wacky than the others. Somehow.
...its in the tank of the 8 liter bike
Hi 👋🏻 Allen 😊 nice cakes from Tracy lol 😂 Oh not for getting the engine re-assembly just perfect 👌🏼
Allen, do you have any experience with the BMW R-series motorcycles? I just got an R1200GS that need some work, and I can't wait to dive into it.
Well done.
11:45 she was banging around like 30seconds ago.
The only problem with Alan's great videos is that they come to an end......I wish they were 2 hr vids because I could watch him work all day. That clock ticking in the background is just so relaxing, and of course Charlie Weaver is a star in his own right.
Lovely to meet you today at the Shelsley Walsh bike bonanza. The Flying Millyard going up the hill showed its torque.
Just got home had a great day and 210 mile round trip on the FM🙂
Great!
Thank you so much Allen, just love your work and the dedication.
Who else gets withdrawal symptoms between episodes
Brilliant stuff as always
Came for a motorbike engine rebuild, saw some woodworking, birds, hedgehogs, cupcakes & charley weaver. Disappointed there’s no cuppa though Allan 😂😂. Love the project so far & your meticulous attention to the details.
I love this so much. Best of RUclips. Makes me feel sad because there is no men like this continuing
Only person on the planet able to take this mess on
I love how a skilled practitioner can make a very complicated process look easy. Watching Allen work I'm tempted to think, "I could do that."
I think it would be quite easy to reroute the exit of the alternator cable further round. I'm sure your new exhaust manifold will help with the heat problem but it really needs a shield of some sort between them. Should I be worried about the severe gasket mismatch at the oil screen or is that deliberate?. 13:42
1st and last time this engine will be rebuilt
I keep looking at this engine and wonder if the great Al Melling designed it.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's free turning brass which has lead in it - which makes silver soldering it a challenge. EN1 is a low carbon, sulfur and phosphorus mild steel which is easy to turn and can be case hardened. Putting lead in it would not be good for it.
EN1A is available with lead for free cutting on automatic machines - do a google search 🙂
I realized that you don't use many power tools for loosening bolts. I've done that for years, with just a 3/8 drive T-handle and sockets. Mine has a handle with bearings in the middle too. I always thought I could use a small impact gun, but never felt the need to spend so much on them.
Brilliant thanks
Fits perfectly everytime
A joy to watch... didn't know you could hand crank the oil pump as a check, so thanks for that tip.
This bike is going to be so fast
Just think there's noone left involved with the build of the bike around to accept responsibility for botching this bike
